Story Description: Storms in the Central Florida area knocked out cable and internet services for a number of residents for an an extended period of time last Sunday.

Problem Description: Spectrum customers were left without cable and internet services.

Title: Knights, Tar Heels wait on Florence- game's status unclear as storm draws closer

Story Description: Due to the danger brought about to the Carolinas by hurricane Florence, both UCF and UNC athletic departments are in discussions to plan what will happen should the game need to be rescheduled or cancelled. Both teams continue to practice as if the game was still occurring as normal.

Problem Description: The arrival of hurricane Florence will likely force UNC and UCF to cancel their game against each-other. Not only will this hurt both universities from a revenue standpoint, it will also hurt each team's chances in the race for their bowl bids.

Who has the problem: UCF and UNC football teams and athletic departments.




Title: Eustis residents poised to fight development

Story Description: Fed up with the sheer amount of development happening in the lake county area,  residents have setup a facebook group called "No More Mass Housing" to fight new development. They have been successful in their efforts so far, but stopping the county's newest development of 96 houses is going to be a challenge.

Problem Description: Lake county residents used to their rural lifestyles won't be able to continue to enjoy them with the city seeking so much growth.

Title: House Speaker blasts UCF over $38 million misspent on academic building

Story Description: UCF's CFO had to resign recently as the speaker of the Florida house revealed that UCF used approximately $38 million intended for operating expenses to construct the new Trevor Colburn hall. Although UCF claims to be taking swift actions to remedy the issue, the government is hesitant the university is doing everything that it should.

Problem Description: UCF is now likely to lose funding from the state after the allegations of misuse of funds led to the resignation of their CFO.

Title: Hotel vouchers for Puerto Ricans displaced by Hurricane Maria expire

Story Description: Although a lawsuit brought forth by activist groups prevented the program from shutting its doors in early July, the program expired on Friday. Activist groups continue to help those families in need, but finding shelter fast will prove to be a great challenge.

Problem Description: many Puerto Ricans will be homeless in the coming days with no home to return to compounded with a lack of affordable housing in the area.

Who has the problem: Puerto Rican's displaced by hurricane Maria.
